TARAK is the Residents’ Association for the VB and VC Wards of the Tudor Area of Kingston Upon Thames. It was established by residents in 2009 in response to local issues such as threats to the K5 bus route and unnecessary parking on Tudor Drive verges.
TARAK has been instrumental in the beautification of the Tudor estate through initiatives such as bulb planting. Another motivation for TARAK was preserving the essential nature of the Tudor estate, which has a special designation by RBK as a Local Area of Special Character (LASC).
Some of the issues TARAK has been involved with include development plans for the Latchmere prison site, preserving the full use of the Latchmere Recreation Ground for local residents, a new North Kingston secondary school, Tudor Hall and Library facilities and development issues pertaining to the parade of shops on Tudor Drive.
TARAK membership costs just £5 per year per household. As a member you will receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, and are made aware of other items of local interest (through email or separate TARAK letter). TARAK also conducts regular social events for members.
Membership enquiries can be directed to the TARAK email address, which is firstname.lastname@example.org.
